How it works
From the first meeting to the binder on your shelf
The same five steps for a will, a trust or a care plan. Probate and guardianship follow the court’s calendar; we explain those at the first meeting.
- 01
Step 1: A first meeting
About an hour, at the office or by video. Bring what you own, who you’d name and any old documents.
- 02
Step 2: A fee in writing
Within two days we send the plan we suggest and a flat fee. Nothing starts until you sign the engagement letter.
- 03
Step 3: Drafts to read
You get every draft as a plain summary first, then the full text. Mark what to change; we revise until it reads right.
- 04
Step 4: A signing
We sign with witnesses and a notary, here, at home or in a care home. It takes about an hour.
- 05
Step 5: The binder
We move the house and accounts where the plan needs them, then hand you the originals, tabbed, with the first page on top.
Asked before a first meeting
Can my parent’s meeting include me?
Yes, with your parent’s permission. We’ll spend part of it with your parent alone, because the plan has to be theirs.
Is the first meeting free?
The first meeting has a set fee we tell you when you book. If you hire us, it counts toward the plan.
Do you meet by video?
Yes. Signings need to be in person, and we can come to you for those.
Five steps, starting with an hour
Pick a time by phone or the form. We’ll send a short list of what to bring.
